Welcome to Horizon by Hartong. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

Horizon by Hartong is a community platform that connects home owners with trusted house sitters across Southeast Asia. We facilitate connections between parties but are not responsible for the agreements made between home owners and sitters.

2. The Platform

Horizon by Hartong provides a platform for home owners and house sitters to connect. All arrangements, agreements and communications between home owners and sitters are made directly between the parties involved. Horizon by Hartong is not a party to any agreement between home owners and sitters.

3. House Sitting Arrangements

All house sitting arrangements are made on a voluntary basis. There is no financial compensation between home owner and sitter unless explicitly agreed upon by both parties. Travel costs may be discussed and agreed upon directly between the parties involved.

4. Responsibility & Damage

House sitters are responsible for treating the home owner’s property with respect and care. In the event of damage to the property, the sitter is expected to report this immediately to the home owner and resolve the matter directly and in good faith. Horizon by Hartong is not liable for any damage, loss or disputes between home owners and sitters.

5. Trust & Respect

Our community is built on trust and mutual respect. All members are expected to:

  • Treat each other’s homes and belongings with care
  • Communicate honestly and openly
  • Respect the agreed terms of each house sit
  • Report any issues promptly and resolve them in good faith

6. Insurance

House sitters are encouraged but not required to have personal travel or liability insurance. Horizon by Hartong does not provide insurance coverage for any house sitting arrangements.

7. Membership & Payments

Access to certain features of Horizon by Hartong may require a paid membership. Membership fees are non-refundable unless stated otherwise. Details of membership plans and pricing are available on our website.

8. Limitation of Liability

Horizon by Hartong acts solely as a platform to connect home owners and sitters. We are not responsible for the conduct of any member, the condition of any property or any disputes arising from house sitting arrangements.

9. Changes to Terms

Horizon by Hartong reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updated Terms & Conditions will be published on this page. We recommend checking this page regularly for any changes.

10. AI & Content Disclosure

At Horizon by Hartong, we write from the heart. Most of our blogs are personal stories in our own words. Occasionally we use AI as a writing assistant to help us shape our thoughts. The experiences, opinions and ideas shared are always our own.

11. Refund Policy

Horizon by Hartong offers digital platform access through subscription plans. The following refund policy applies:

Monthly subscriptions We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of your first payment. After 14 days, no refunds are issued for the remaining days of the month.

Annual subscriptions We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. After 14 days, annual subscriptions are non-refundable.

Free trial accounts No payment is taken during the free trial period. No refund applies.

How to request a refund Contact us at david@horizonbyhartong.com within 14 days of payment. We will process your refund within 5-7 business days.

Refunds are processed through Paddle, our payment provider.
